How To Make Boot-iful Halloween Nesting Boxes

Hello there!
Welcome to Chattering Robin's blog.
Michelle here today to share with you
how to make nesting boxes using
Halloween cardstock from The Robin's Nest.

I chose the Spooky Eyes Glitter Cardstock &
the Orange Crackle Glitter Cardstock,
and various selections from TRN EXCLUSIVE Dew Drops line.

http://shop.robinsnest-scrap.net/main.sc

The design I used for the boxes with Halloween themed cutouts
is one from my die-cutting machine.
However any box die or even template will work just fine for this project.
You will also need double sided tape, glue, glitter, ribbon
and ANY Halloween embellishment of choice.

The first box cut was the largest. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE
this cardstock with it's colorful stripes on one side, and polka dots on the other.
For the box body, I chose to use the striped side, for the lid, I used the dot side.
The largest box has a good size pumpkin cut-out design.

I then followed score lines to fold and then secured the box using double sided tape.
I followed the same assembly & fold directions with the medium & small boxes, each having Halloween cut-out designs of a cat and bats.
I had a few leftover cut shapes from my last TRN Halloween themed project,
and used them as my added embellishments.

I also used halloween themed ribbon from my personal stash,
as well as a fancy sheer orange flower and black ribbon roses for the box lid,
and black acrylic flowers with TRN Metallic Dew Drop centers,
for the medium & small box lids.
Using the TRN Dew Drops, I added interest to the spider bodies.

Without "unboxing" the nesting boxes, I have cute Halloween decor.
With lights out, and un-nested boxes, I add small battery operated tea lights,
to give a "Boo-tiful" Halloween essence, and showing off the cut-out window of each.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed this Halloween project.

Pageboy

Hello this fall morning!

October!
I'm shivering as I look out over my  yard and all the flowers
have frozen in the last overnight freeze!

It is so fun to see the changes of color in the mountains and the
fall brisk mornings,
I put on my long pants and sweaters for this season
and look forward to hot chocolate mornings.

Today I am featuring a layout with our grand daughter Becca Ann.
She was so willing last year to take photos with us,
this year not so much, so I will take advantage of the cute
photos we took last year.

Here she is wearing one of my father's golf hats, she looks so cute in it,
and her sweet smile is so contagious.

I used these products in this page from The Robin's Nest:

Admiral Fleur Glitter Linen Cardstock  Airplane Cardstock  Blue Bees Linen Cardstock

Aristocratic Blues Cards   Flame Dew Drops

Ribbon, flowers and buttons from my scrapbook stash.

The chrysanthemum stickers are brand new!
So cute on this page!

There is the opposite side to the page that I am
featuring.

And close ups of the page.

The 5 is on one of the cards, back side, and I cut the fleur de lys of the side
of it and used it in 2 separate places in the layout.  The 5 is framed
and the de lys are just a strip on the side of the lo.

Close up of the chrysanthemums, I love the orange and yellow colors!

I love how this page turned out of our cute Becca Ann.

You can find these products on our website,

just click on this link and it will take you to the shopping page.

Have a great day!

How to Create a Quick & Cute Halloween Card from Scraps

Hello and welcome!  Shelly with you sharing a super cute & quick card I created using scraps from my last project.

In my last post, I showed you how to create a Halloween Banner.  I was so in love with the die cut cat using the Robins Nest papers that I created a 2nd one at the same time to use on a future project - and this is it!

What I used:

What I did:
  • Score white cardstock at center, fold, use corner rounder on all corners, ink edges
  • Cut Kraft cardstock, use corner rounder on all corners, ink edges
  • Adhere kraft CS piece to white card base
  • Cut circle from Flame Swirl Cardstock (trace around a large cup or saucer for pattern) ink edges and adhere to kraft cardstock
  • Adhere die cut cat on top of Flame Circle Cardstock Circle
  • Fussy cut a bat from Black Bats Glitter Cardstock and the word BOO from Boo Words Glitter Cardstock and adhere to card
  • Adhere ball fringe along lower edge of kraft cardstock
  • Finish with Black & Ivory Diamond Dew Drops

I may have enough scraps from these papers to use on one more Halloween project....

Thanks for stopping by the blog today - have a creative week!

Bike for a man

Hi all Robin's Nest fans.

I would like to show you a masculine card.

The masculin theme is difficult when you can't put flowers and

all thoses embellishements you have in your craft room.

But this time I tought I can use this wonderful element which is a bike.

Please see some stages of this project.

Thank you for your attention and all lovely comments.

Kind Regards
